In this episode of My Sober Addiction, Clive and Dom are back for another lively chat. With Clive’s deep research and Dom’s quick wit, there is never a dull moment. So, isn’t it nice that, now that we are sober a free from addiction, we can be there for the people in our lives? Usually these are people are the ones who were there for us when we were battling active addiction and support our recovery now that we are living a sober lifestyle. It just feels good to be able to help people when they call rather than making excuses for why we can’t make it. The truth. Is, we couldn’t because addiction had us constantly chasing drugs, but of course we never would admit it at that time.

We finish up by discussing how important it is to things today that our future selves would thank us for. It started with going through withdrawals and resisting relapse and now it is building a life. It’s not always easy but will your future self thank you for doing it? If so, then do it! In this episode of My Sober Addiction, we are making another installment in our “Isn’t It Nice” series. When we were in active addiction, it was nearly impossible to be there for the ones we love. Sure, we intended to be but it just never seemed to work out. Any time something would come up, we would say we would be there but addiction always had other plans for us.

Now that we are sober and living that clean and sober lifestyle, we can actually be there for people with no worry of being away from the hustle and grind of the dope game. Ain’t sobriety great?

“Clear paths, not trees.” A new episode of My Sober Addiction with Matt, Dom and Clive cuts through the noise and gets practical. The trio look at how fear‑driven media rigs our attention. They show how awareness, boundaries and small experiments can flip anxiety into agency. No mysticism. No outrage farming. Just tools you can try today.

We are all being bombarded from every side with negativity from the soul crushing media and social media. It’s enough to make anyone want to bury their head in the sand. We addicts need to be especially careful during these times because anxiety and dread can lead to relapse back into active addiction. There is hope but it will take some effort and sacrifice on your part. It’s totally worth it, though, so don't despair. To regain our sanity as well as our humanity we must take control of our own (as Clive says) mental diet. This means getting hyper aware of where you are directing your attention. Do not play into the games that “they” are always trying to distract us with. Addicts in recovery are particularly aware of how easily distracted we humans are, and we’ve had to overcome it at least once in order to get sober.
