Will this sideline me right before I get into the bulk volume off my training?

Will I have to adapt to something different for the week?

  • 7: Is This Pain or Just Discomfort?
    May 1 2025

“This is what success feels like.”

What do you tell yourself when the tank is empty, the legs are screaming, and every option to quit is on the table?

In this episode of Nine to 100, I share the story of a brutal long run in Sedona with my buddy Kevin — a run that was supposed to be chill but turned into a four+ hour grind on fatigued legs.

I dive into the mental side of pushing through discomfort, the difference between pain and fatigue, and how true success often feels terrible in the moment.

Whether you're training for your first ultra or just trying to show up when it’s hard, this one's for you.

👉 Listen, reflect, and let me know:
What’s your mantra when the going gets tough?
Drop a comment on the episode. I’d love to feature a few on a future pod!

A recap of some of my VO2 development sessions and talking about a hard weekend for motivation.

Just about 6 months out from the Kodiak 100 and I've still got a long way to go, but this fatigue and soreness means I'm headed in the right direction.

  • 5: Shifting During Training (April 4, 2025)
    Apr 4 2025

"The Illusion of a Perfect Training Plan"

Training for a 100-mile ultramarathon? Spoiler alert: nothing ever goes exactly as planned. In this episode of 9 to 100, I dive into the wild world of shifting—not just gears, but mindsets and expectations.

Whether it’s surprise snowstorms, injuries, or life just being life (shoutout to that last-minute work meeting), flexibility is a skill, not a fallback. I’ll share real moments from my own training where plans got tossed out the window—and why that was actually the best thing that could’ve happened.

    We’ll talk about:

    • Why adaptability beats perfection in endurance training

    • How my coach helps me navigate shifting schedules and terrain

    • Dealing with weather, and whether you should push through or adapt to alternatives

This episode is for anyone on the long-haul journey—who want to train smarter, stress less, and learn to roll with the punches (and maybe even enjoy 'em).

So lace up, tune in, and let’s talk about how shifting your training might just be the key to crossing that 100-mile finish line.

  • 2: (Audio Issues) - Sick Boy (Feb 16, 2025)
    Mar 11 2025

I've created a handful of podcasts and I just made a rookie mistake and didn't listen to the audio right off the bat to test it. Then felt like it was a great recording, content wise, so now i's stuck with some clicking noise.

Oh well, content is better than quality right? ...right?

I think there is some good stuff in here if you can get through it and tune out the mic clicks
