Dostoevsky writes from the perspective of  a man trapped in a psychological labyrinth of his own making. The narrator describes his walls to you in vivid detail, even describing to you why his cage is much nicer than yours.

I read excerpts of the first section of the book, examine the perspective of the narrator, relate to his misery and try to justify day-to-day life in the face of the inevitable death of the universe.
