  • Episode 26: The 30-Day Fibre Plan: 30g a Day Made Simple
    May 8 2026

Today we welcome Farzanah to the Podcast. Farzanah is a registered Nutritional Therapist and a certified Functional Medicine Practitioner with over a decade of clinical experience. She specialises in gut and immune health, with a particular focus on LONGEVITY and the gut microbiome.

Passionate about the power of food as medicine, she regularly shares insights for publications such as Vogue and the Guardian.

She has just launched a book The Everyday High-Fibre Plan, complete with the science a 30 day plan, lifestyle guidance and 130 recipes.

In this podcast we explore some of the following questions around Fibre:

    - Tell me what spark ignited your drive study nutrition and then later functional medicine?

    - Fibre us gaining momentum in the food and drink industry, but not all fibre claims mean that they are healthy choices, what else should consumers be looking for when grabbing snacks that make source of or high fibre claims on packaging?

    - What would be three simple swaps or add in’s to your day that will help you reach higher fiber intake?

    - There are different forms of fibre, we hear terms around soluble, insoluble, resistant starch. Can you explain a little more to our listeners what this means and practically looks like in everyday dietary choices?

    - Many people have said to me in clinic in the past that they get bloating and digestive upset when having fibre. I often tell individuals and have written about this, that it is importatnt to get fibre from a variety of sources, but to increase slowly. Going from having minimal fibre in your diet to 30g of day will cause upset for most people. Do you talk about this in your book?

    - How do you manage to juggle family life, work and still making healthy recipes that deliver on nutrition and fibre intake?

    - Do you have any non-negotiables in your lifestyle that make it work for you?

Today I have the privilege of welcoming Rae. FWP by Rae was born out of a love for responsibly made stylish quality clothing. Launching her first in-house t-shirt designs in 2017, followed by the fine knit sweatshirts and much more. FWP is all about Fabric, Words and Print. Fair trade and ethical sourcing is at the forefront of everything Rae does. Rae is an inspirational female founder and it is a pleasure to welcome her to the podcast today. Today in the conversation we explore:

    - How co-owning a small independent wine company turned into a full-fledged clothing brand?

    - Your mission is to create “stylish products that are ethically produced, sustainable and affordable” How do you ensure that you remain consistent with this mission in your product development and business decisions?

-What was the moment when you knew it was time to launch, imperfectly, and how did customer feedback shape your next steps?

    - What personal values or life experiences most shaped your decision to start an ethical clothing brand, and how do those values influence the way you run your business today?

    - International Womens Day/Month is about female founders. What advice would you give aspiring founders, especially those juggling family or full-time roles like you, that helped you launch and sustain a business?

    - How do you manage to juggle family life and a busy, expanding business? Do you have any non-negotiables that make it work for you?

    Nov 25 2025

Introduction to our guest this week -

William Chase, founder of Willy's ACV.

From his 300-year-old orchards in Herefordshire, he champions regenerative organic farming and natural fermentation to create living apple cider vinegar that supports gut health and the planet.

Topics we explore during the discussion -

    - You’ve got such an inspiring story behind what has become the Willy’s brand. What was your why? What made you believe this journey was worth it in the first place?- Willy’s isn’t just a product on a shelf - it’s something you produce, live, and breathe everyday. Can you tell us about your process, how you create your range of products, andwhat makes them truly unique in the market?- Gut health is such a big topic right now, and in functional medicine it’s always the first place we look. From your personal experience and perspective as a brand founder, what makes apple cider vinegar worth including in a daily routine for gut health?- Your products are now stocked in several major retailers - which is no small feat. How receptive have buyers been to bringing Willy’s on board? And do you find there’s aneducational piece that comes with introducing ACV-based products to new audiences?- When you think about the next five years, where do you see Willy’s heading? What growth or evolution would make you look back and say, “Yes - it’s all been worth it”?- Finally, this episode is called Is It Worth It. Looking back at your journey - from starting and scaling multiple businesses to building Willy’s in such a sustainable, authentic way - how would you personally answer that question
