    Mary Habstritt the director of the museum ship Lilac gives us a tour of the Steam Ship Lilac. Former Light Tender.. The ship was built in 1933 for the US Light Service and later transferred to the US Coast Guard when the light house service was disbanded. The Lilac was in service from 1933 to 1972 and was the last Direct Drive Steam Ship in service when it was retired in 1972
