Gael Barker, a talented violinist and sophomore at George Washington University, where he is majoring in international relations, has been an integral member of the Academy Orchestra for the past eight years. His musical journey began at the age of ten when he first joined the program, progressing through various ensembles and ultimately earning his place as first violin in the Academy Orchestra. In this episode, Gael shares his deep love for the violin, his passion for music, and the importance of family in his life. For Gael, the Symphony is more than just music—it’s a family of friends and memories that have shaped him into the young man he is today. Listen in as Gael reflects on his experiences, growth, and the lasting impact the Youth Orchestra has had on his life.
