Leadership happens in the daily interactions on the assembly line, in every 1-on-1 that a manager does with their direct reports, or as you coach a front line customer service representative through a difficult call. An experienced team member that welcomes a new team member is showing leadership, regardless of any explicit leadership responsibility.
