In this cruise-themed episode, Diane and John chronicle the 2013 Cruise Nightmare that left 4000 passengers stranded in the Gulf of Mexico aboard the infamous Carnival Triumph.  

Onion Sandwiches, Raw Sewage and a lack of power (or air conditioning) for 7 days on a ship “dead a sea” all created an experience to be remembered.

Now that our world is on pause and cruise ships are parked and empty awaiting a return to sailing, it seemed a good time to reflect on the ups and downs, and paranoid fantasies around this All-American past time!

In this first episode of Season 2, Diane and John dive into aspects of Hawaii that make the remote island both alluring and dangerous.  We look back on Hawaii's history as it transitioned into a US territory and then state following WW2.  We also explore the modern day dynamics and dangers of the islands' wild side and the risks visitors may be taking as they go off the beaten path.

In the epic historical landmark of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, there are many monuments and attractions dedicated to the Battle of Gettysburg.  One of the most bizarre and "interactive" is the "Jennie Wade House" at 584 Baltimore St.  Mary Virginia Wade (May 21, 1843 – July 3, 1863), also known as "Ginnie Wade", is said to be the "only civilian casualty of the Battle of Gettysburg." All due respect to Jenny Wade and the fallen American soldiers and their families.

On October 20, 1986 one pilot (as all pilots do)  had 95 lives under his care during a domestic flight across western Russia (USSR at the time).  During the flight from Sverdlovsk to Grozky, pilot Alexander Kliuyev did something that would put every passenger at risk (not including lives on the ground).  This tragic and scandalous event would be covered up immediately by the national government, and for good reason - until documents would leak years later.

Diane and John contemplate the surreal and tragic true story of Dee Dee Blanchard and her daughter Gypsy Rose.  We discuss the actions a young girl took after years of alleged abuse and hostage by her Dee Dee's apparent Munchausen Syndrome.  As usual, we give a benefit of a doubt to those involved and try to show compassion in the telling of this bizarre story.
