  • Everything We Know About Dolly Alderton
    May 7 2025
A big one today ladies a gents. We look at Dolly (alias Hannah) Alderton arch chronicler of millennial friendship and love. We both Dolly to bits and any of our more constructive feedback comes from a place of deep understanding of her work and we hope should she see this she understands. Although we heard of her adaption of Pride and Prejudice with trepidation, we will go into watching it with open hearts and minds. Furthermore, I expect a lot of it comes from cultural cringe. • pAraSoCial TRaItORs !!!!!!!!!!!!
    Feb 8 2025
Wow Ksenia and Eve - ever on trend are discussing BBC's THE TRAITORS! Only a cool fortnight after it finished. But the series finale was watched by 7 MILLION people so assuming it must be of at least some interest. The sound is better this week as we were back at your recording studio. Ksenia's living room. Who was your favourite traitor? Biggest parasocial? We also solve GENDER, JOAN DIDION, AND THE BRITISH CLASS SYSTEM. All in a day's work.

  • 2024: A year a pop parasocialism
    Dec 9 2024

We are really late sorry. The sound is also bad. See this as an incredible overview of an exciting year of people developing parasocial and paranormal relationships. We dive into the occult as well as Sabrina Carpenter. Can you even imagine? But the good news is, we will be back to recording in person very soon. Thank for listening legends. Shout out to Aunty Kim <3

  • Molly Mae and the Love Island Babes
    Sep 2 2024

The nation was left reeling by the shock (or not) break up of Molly Mae Hague and Tommy Fury parents of the unfortunately named Bambi Fury. Eve does not get the Molly Mae hype. She seems boring? But Ksenia explains how staying at home in pyjamas and watching films aimed at children is actually very feminist.

Thanks to legend Anna C and Ewan F for the graphics and music respectively.

  • A dichotomy: Charli XCX and Taylor Swift part 2 (party girl remix)
    Aug 4 2024

The sound is fixed you will all be relieved to know.

365 party girls Eve and Ksenia continue their breathtaking analysis, pitting women against each other. They attempt to mirror XCX's vulnerability and authenticity and Swift's horsegirl drive. Can you be brat if you work at palantir? No. Having said that, if Kamala is brat then Hilary Clinton is Swift. Eve takes you through the chronology of girl so confusing.

  • A dichotomy: Charli XCX and Taylor Swift
    Jul 23 2024

SORRY ABOUT THE SOUND. IT WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN

A fridge? Swift. A freezer? Charli. Salt? Swift. Pepper? Charli. Kamala? Charli. Hilary? Swift. Need we go on?

In this two part series we compare and contrast our parasocial relationships with rival (?) musicians and cultural figures Charli XCX and Taylor Swift. Despite being a literal horse girl, Ksenia is not taken by Blondie. Eve is consumed by a fraught ambivalence. Be prepared for an intense psychodrama. We also discuss living legends Anna Maxwell Martin star of Motherland and Tina Tsakonas star of informative Tiktoks about going to prison. No bad parasocial this week except Eve.

  • 2010 Youtubers
    Jul 1 2024

This week Ksenia and Eve dive into one of the most influential cultural movements of our time: YOUTUBE of the 2010s. We consider how it shaped how we interact with celebrities now, the idea of an influencer and 2010s Anglophilia. We also catch up on some of our favourites and what they're doing (owning a student accommodation company, volunteering at a greyhound shelter, and transitioning in Canada.) Eve inflicts some ideas from CS Lewis onto Ksenia and she takes it graciously and we then consider the Youtube careers that could have been. But thank God they weren't.

    Who were your favourite Youtubers?

  • The Royal Ballet
    Jun 18 2024

Despite some fans’ unfortunate determination to turn Ms Swift from Taylor to Gaylor, this week’s episode is the most wholesome yet: from the shores of Saudi Arabia (we promise, it’s all nice and positive – at least on Eve’s ex-one-night-stand’s Instagram) to the wings of the Royal Opera House where Ksenia rubs shoulders with members of the Royal Ballet in her daydreams.
