About this listen

For as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to live in Paris but I can’t pinpoint or understand where that dream came from. Moulin Rouge, maybe? In fact, wanting to live in Paris was something growing up that I was embarrassed to admit to myself (among other things ;D)!

In this podcast I explore where this desire comes from through conversations with expats, Parisians, the French, and anyone traveling or living in Paris and France. I aim to understand what brought them here, what they love or hate about this city and French culture and what Paris means to them. I’m on a quest to understand what it is about Paris and France that draws people in. I want to document the people in my life in a context and format that speaks to the bizarre realities of the 2020s and in doing so, I hope to gain a better understanding of what pulled me to this city and brought me to this point in my life living in Paris.

Bisous,

  • A Summer Special: Les Vacances, PFW Men's, & Couture
    Jun 20 2025

As summer officially begins (remember Fete de la Musique = first day of summer!!) I highlight a few things happening in and around Paris. Some things I find *chic* and others I find *cringe.*

There's also an important and exciting moment on the horizon for the fashion world just before les vacances commence. A slew of new designers are set to take over in Paris. This change begins at the end of June with J. W. Anderson's first show for Dior Homme followed by the last studio-designed Chanel Couture show before Matthieu Blazy takes over in the fall.

I try to contextualize the significance of this moment from my POV and experience working with both brands here in Pairs.

  • Is it Chic or Cringe?
    Jun 6 2025

An age old question: is it chic or cringe?

On this week's installment of Paris is a Party I examine the idea of 'Parisian Chic.' A mercurial concept that people 'round the world love to throw out and, between us, overuse. Is 'Parisian Chic' actually just cringe at the end of the day? Or, is there something more to the idea? I've given it some thought in the past - I live in Paris, how could I not - but never paid it much attention until now thanks to social media and a particular influencer who made me question everything.

Don't miss this riveting episode examining what is 'Parisian Chic' and what is decidedly not.

  • Party in Barbès Pt.1
    May 21 2025

Mes amis, je reviens! At long last I'm back with another solo show giving you the much longed for update on life which includes our move to the 18th and the excitement around that process which coincided with Paris Fashion Week. Real drama AND fashion drama! In addition to that whole update/story, I share some of the things that I'm loving right now about spring in Paris, including: light-wash denim, baguette (summer be damned!) and fully flourishing trees.

I'm also so excited to introduce and unveil my new logo / design format. Will I create merch? Probably!

    Enjoy and bisous,
