About this listen
This week we chat with Cloudforests Endurance Team Member, Paul Caldwell, a cyclist who has competed in many cycling disciplines throughout the years.
Paul has had major success at a national level, particularly in Mountain Biking which peaked with claiming the Masters National Marathon Championships in 2017. He has now turned his focus to Endurance and Ultra Cycling as he feels this is the discipline he enjoys the most. Since doing so, he has set records on some of Ireland's toughest Off-Road routes.
In 2021 Paul took part and won the Wild Mayo Ultra 650 race and also completed the entire Wicklow Way out and back in the fastest known time of 20 hours unsupported. Whilst in 2020 he was the first person to ride off-road from Cork to Cavan on the Beara Breffini Way which he completed in 3 days and 14 hours.
