  • Mother’s Day (Pt 2) - Mother/Daughter Relationship Breakdown.
    Feb 7 2022

I know it's a long one.. but it had to be!, yet there is still so much more to say.

In this episode Kush Darta speaks on this very taboo and uncomfortable topic of the breakdown in relationship between herself and her mother.

Kush is joined by Creative Genius, Wordsmith and Spiritual Curator: siSTAR Buki (@Bukiinbloom) and Writer, Producer and Broadcaster: siSTAR Ankhobia (@Ankhobia1) who also share their experiences in childhood, current relationship status and tools and strategies that can be help heal the 'Mother Wound' (Webster, B.). The 'Mother Wound' according to Bethany Webster is the pain rooted in our relationship with our mothers that is passed down from generation to generation in cultures and has a profound effect on our lives and exists on 4 levels.

You can read more information on this here: https://www.bethanywebster.com/about-the-mother-wound/  and  : https://www.bethanywebster.com/blog/mother-blame/

We examine 'Attachment Styles'( a theory first developed by psychologist Mary Ainsworth and psychiatrist John Bowlby in the 1950's).

Attachment Styles are shaped and developed in early childhood in response to our relationships with our earliest caregiver. Essentially our adult attachment style is thought to mirror the dynamics we had with our caregivers as infants and children.

If you would like more information on attachment styles or to take a test to discover your own style, you can  do so here:
