    Mar 5 2024

There are many elements that make a great sequel, but what's the most important...a great title. Sequel titles are an important art form that the Podcast Two feel a deep need to dive into. What makes a sequel title great? What makes it different from other film titles? What could possibly rank as the greatest sequel title of all time? Look, we're not sports guys, but this is the closest we'll get. We have devised an incredibly specific March Madness bracket system to decide once and for all, what is the greatest sequel title ever written?

Spaceballs 2: The Quest for More Money vs. Zombieland Double Tap

The Empire Strikes Back vs. Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan

Star Wars: Attack of the Clones vs. Star Trek Into Darkness

28 Weeks Later vs. Terminator 2: Judgement Day

The Road Warrior vs. Glass Onion: A Knives Out Story

2 Fast 2 Furious vs. Speed: Cruise Control

Rambo: First Blood vs. Die Hard 2: Die Harder

The Dark Knight vs. Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice

Spiderman: Far From Home vs. Spiderman Across the Spiderverse

Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties vs. Babe: Pig in the City

Magic Mike XXL vs. Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls

Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel vs. Before Sunset

Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo vs. Meet the Fockers

22 Jump Street vs. Ocean's Twelve

  • The King of Comedy 2
    Feb 20 2024

Rupert Pumpkin is back! This week, we are writing a sequel to Martin Scorsese's "The King of Comedy." Will the film answer whether the last film's climax took place within the protagonist's head? Will this be a legacy sequel or will we de-age Robert De Niro like "The Irishman" did? What's The Clash gotta do with all of this? Will Sam adopt Scorsese's four hour work days? Does our audience know what McCarthy-ism is? Will we be able to match Taika Waititi's godlike improv skills? Which of our former guests farted in any Oscar nominees office? All that and more on the new episode of Podcast 2: The Sequel.

  • American Psycho 2 with Eva Lucy Alvarado
    Feb 6 2024

We have to return some videotapes...okay?! This week on the Podcast we are diving deep into Mary Harron's American Psycho with special guest Eva Lucy Alvarado! She's a mega fan of Mary's Brett Easton Ellis adaptation, so we're heading to the Yale room with her to write a followup to the 2000's cult classic. Will Christian Bale return as Patrick Bateman? Will his business card finally spell "Acquisition" correctly? Is Bill Sage able to sweat on queue like Christian did? How does Dimes Square tie into all of this? Why are we somehow discussing Saltburn a whole two weeks after that episode? Is this officially the start of our beef with Red Scare? How does the history of French Clown education tie into all of this? Find out on this week's episode of Podcast 2 The Sequel.
