  • The War On Police. A National Nightmare. Episode II
    Jan 12 2023

In episode 2 of the podcast "War on Police: A National Nightmare," we delve into the events surrounding the arrest of Henry Louis Gates, a black Harvard professor, on July 16, 2009, and the subsequent "beer summit" that was held in response to President Obama's comment that the Cambridge, Massachusetts police department acted "stupidly." This incident played a role in the creation of the 21st Century Policing task force, which was assigned to identify "action items" on how police can promote effective crime reduction while still building the public trust. The task force's six pillars include building trust and legitimacy, policy and oversight, technology and social media, community policing and crime reduction, training and education, and officer wellness and safety.

Additionally, the elimination of cash bail and bail reform is discussed. California was the first state to completely eliminate the bail system, with New York following suit in 2020 by eliminating pretrial detention and cash bail for an estimate 90% of all arrests. This does not take into consideration past criminal history and raises questions about the possibility of this elimination leading to more leniencies in the criminal justice system.

The podcast also covers the Police Accountability Bill, which became law in 2020, creating the office of an inspector general to investigate complaints of police misconduct, and the concept of qualified immunity. As well as discussing the recent events of NYPD officers being attacked with machetes and the Portland "Meth Zombies"

  • The War On Police - A National Nightmare
    Dec 4 2022

I'm disgusted by the way law enforcement has been treated across our country. Now that I've retired I have no policies, no bosses, and no bullshit to hold me back from saying what needs to get said. The defund the police movement is making you, your family, and your home more unsafe than you can imagine.

Cops are leaving the field at alarming rates - and I mean the real cops, the good cops, the ones you want in uniform.  Years of experience and knowledge have disappeared. It's a disaster. And it's all politically motivated.

Be patient and kind to me on this podcast, I'm still learning how to do this stuff.
