  • What Are Employee StockPurchase Plans? (ESPP)
    May 19 2025

An ESPP, or Employee Stock Purchase Plan, lets employees buy company stock at a discount, often up to 15 percent, through payroll deductions. It can be a smart way to build wealth over time, especially with features like lookbacks, but it's important to understand the tax rules and avoid putting too much of your portfolio into one stock. • Roth or Traditional 401K: How to Choose | Prescribed Wealth Podcast
    Mar 28 2025

Choosing between a Roth 401(k) and a Traditional 401(k) comes down to when you want to pay taxes. A Traditional 401(k) gives you a tax break now, but withdrawals in retirement are taxed as income. A Roth 401(k) requires you to pay taxes upfront, but withdrawals in retirement are completely tax-free. If you expect to be in a higher tax bracket later, a Roth may be the better choice. If you want to lower your taxable income now, a Traditional 401(k) could work better. The right choice depends on your income, tax strategy, and long-term goals.
