A Zen student approaches his Roshi and claims he is ready for satori, ready to enter Nirvana.
The Roshi asks for his current state of mind.
Student says, "My mind is calm and tranquil.
The Roshi says "excellent, enter Zen from there" and turns to leave. The student asks the Roshi for one last question, "What if I had said my head was active, full of static, what would you have said? "Enter Zen from there" as he continued out the door.
Trauma is a highly charged word these days. Some run from it like it is a natural disaster, others wear it like a badge of honor. IN this exploration we explore the power of presence in helping One deal with trauma, and whether or not trauma can serve as a valuable catalyst for Self Inquiry.
