Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics text has been credited as the source for determining if an act is voluntary and intentional (Sloan, 2010; Muller, 2015). His objective reasoning exercise focuses on conjunctive verbs which, dependent on which one is employed, changes the focus of the verb; The ‘Act’ (Houston, 2013). By determining the ‘Who’, ‘When’, ‘Where’, ‘What’, ‘Why’ and ‘How’ (‘5 Ws & How’) of any act, we can determine if the individual was acting intentionally (Muller, 2015). Without the act being deliberately undertaken by the individual it cannot result in ‘leadership’.
