About this listen
What does it truly mean to be influential in a way that lasts beyond our lifetime? This message takes us on a journey from the Garden of Eden to the cross of Christ, revealing that genuine influence isn't about building our own platform or winning popularity contests. Instead, it's about allowing the life of Jesus to shine so brightly through us that others are drawn not to us, but to Him. The passage from Proverbs 11:30 serves as our anchor: 'The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and whoever captures souls is wise.' But this isn't about religious duty or knocking on doors with a formula. It's about living a life so rooted in walking with God that others naturally want what we have. The tree of life imagery connects us back to Eden, reminding us that we were created for intimate relationship with our Creator. When we chose our own way over His, death entered the world. But Jesus became the ultimate tree of life, hanging on a cross to restore what was lost. His life now lives in us, making us lights in the darkness. The question we must wrestle with is this: when people look at our lives, do they clearly see Jesus, or are there things obstructing the view? True influence comes when we decrease so that Christ can increase, when our habits, relationships, and dreams align with His purposes rather than our own ambitions.
