In this episode, Jason poses the question - "Is modern college really just trade school?" and explores the various reasons why it, in fact, approaches trade school, moving perhaps as close to the old European model of the majority get job training; a few get education. Jason then discusses take-aways of a fascinating paper from 2018 that puts tuition, major and school choice, and student debt together to yield a working plan of advice, and sketches a vision of what education should be like, and how to get it today, and what has been lost if students only look to school for job training.
