In today’s episode I sit down with my good friend Damali Ross. Me and Damali first met while in John Dewey High School. While I myself was in film school and doing extra work I started to see Damali doing stunt work and appearing on many TV shows and movies. We started to reconnect as Damali came to see two of my improv shows. In this episode we dive into Damali’s history as a gymnast, our first-time meeting, diving into stunts and many other topics.
Bio: Damali Ross was born in Guyana, South America. Her family moved her to NYC when she was young and there she became a competitive USAG gymnast, placing 3rd at the 2005 State Championships. Ms. Ross later graduated from Oswego University with a BA in Fine Arts but ultimately became a professional stunt performer. She was Taft-Hartleyed by Adam Sandler and Allen Covert while working on the production named ‘The Week Of’ and by that years end was taken under the mentorship of Jeff Ward while working on ‘BlacKkKlansman’.
