• Episode 87 - Dragons, Jets and Portals - Oh My (House of the Dragon Season 2 Finale Recap + Breakdown)
    Aug 9 2024

To celebrate the finale of House of the Dragon, we called in some reinforcements to recreate the *dragons flying overhead* vibes (aka the Air and Water show is happening in Chicago and there are really loud jets all over the city) - apologies if the sound of this episode is triggering, over stimulating or just too annoying to listen to while we gossip about how long it took Daemon to bend his damn knee...

This season was....something. The finale was also something.

Regardless - we have two more seasons to look forward to of fierce dragon realness.

Max continues to be the most profitable streaming app, as they dropped their 2025 preview of upcoming shows, which gave us a 10 second, "The Last of Us," season 2 teaser which promptly made us emotional.

    We're not ready. Are you?

  • Episode 86 - UNTIL YOU'RE 90 (Deadpool and Wolverine Reaction + Breakdown)
    Aug 1 2024

This past week the highly anticipated blockbuster movie of the summer, extremely sexual, perfectly thrilling and captivating, hilariously written, Deadpool and Wolverine, premiered in theaters.

Of course we saw it opening night, after making the greater part of Chicago drinks (service industry workers say hey!)

Despite watching our favorite degenerate anti heros grace the screen in their extra tight spandex-clad suits, in the wee early hours of the morning past our bedtimes, we truthfully could not blink. What a perfect union of two misfits that are perfect for one another.

We have a full breakdown and reaction, as well as some SDCC news! While we were distracted about Pedro Pascal being in full blown Reed Richards mode (and we ain't mad about it), the rest of the world was losing their minds over a certain someone returning to the MCU....

You already know who it is. RDJ is back and ready to collect that MARVEL MONEY.

  • Episode 85 - Father, Son, House of the Dragon
    Jun 23 2024

One of our favorite shows is finally back and we're ready to drop everything we've cared about up until this point (cough The Acolyte cough), to discuss how much we love watching dragons fly on our televisions every week, as well as the occasional cunning sibling murder. Too soon, too soon.

This is a heavy spoiler episode that dives into House of the Dragon, so if you haven't watched the show or Episode 1 yet, please be aware that we do not hold back.

This is also the perfect opportunity to catch up on the show thus far before episode 2 premieres tonight!

We threw in some fun nerd news in the beginning as well. The usual rants, comments, and weekly shenanigans - you know the drill.

  • Episode 84 - Trauma Bonded (The Acolyte Episodes 1+2)
    Jun 11 2024

We have a BRAND new Star Wars show that premiered this past week and we are so excited to experience a new time period, in our favorite galaxy, that hasn't been explored before : The High Republic.

The High Republic was a time when the Jedi were at their very best, thriving you could even say. No Sith were around, everyone was singing "Kumbaya," and there were even yellow sabers! There were cross breeds of aliens and humans everywhere you looked, different jedi fashion, and even sabers that whipped it real good (yes there were lightsaber whips, thank you Vernestra Rwoh)

We break down episodes 1 +2, right after we deliver a lot of nerd news. A new Hunger Games prequel, Sabrina Carpenter dropping the hottest soundtrack of Eternals Part II, and more Deadpool news!

  • Episode 82 - Dark Times on Disney Plus (X-Men 97 + The Bad Batch Recaps)
    Apr 28 2024

Disney Plus has become a beacon of light and especially darkness in recent weeks, as we have been tuning into the revival series of X-Men 97 and The Bad Batch, which have us feeling some type of way (extreme sadness).

The content material for both of these shows is HEAVY. Just because both of these series are animated, does not mean they hold back on the storylines. Characters through both of these series are constantly judged, hated against, and targeted for no reason, other than them wanting to do good. From the empire trafficking children for M-counts and cloning, to the mutants of X-Men being treated as outcasts and put through genocide because of their genetic makeup, Disney Plus has become a dark place the past few weeks.

....however, we see the light at the end of the tunnel, or Genosha. We'll cheer you up with some fun nerd news, talk about some Dune fans at Coachella because why not and insert some fun life tangents in between.

  • Episode 81 - LISAN AL GAIB (Dune Part II Recap + Breakdown)
    Mar 21 2024
It's been a couple of weeks since the release of Dune Part II and we are certain our lives will never be the same... LISAN AL GAIB! We've let some time pass since we have both seen the film, to gather our many thoughts and process the magic that we experienced on screen. If you've seen Dune, you know exactly what we're talking about. We discuss our favorite scenes, character changes and what we thought of Denis' take on one of our favorite universes. Nerd News this week is a lot of banter, discussing St. Patrick's Day in Chicago and how to survive if you're in the service industry. We're still just a shell of the person we once were before that shift. Some exciting Star Wars news as well, as we are on the brink of The Acolyte series, which will take place 100 years before The Phantom Menace! Fun times to be a nerd!

  • Episode 80 - Dry January Woes
    Jan 27 2024
Episode 80, nice to meet ya! Can't believe we've arrived at just 30 shy of 100 episodes! If you've made it this far with us, we appreciate you more than you know! We start off this episode with a slight tangent on how the popular, "Dry January," saga is going for us. Are we participating? Was it a facade? Are we directly hurting the economy of our own industry by not drinking? S. O. S. We directly attack the Academy for not nominating The Iron Claw YET AGAIN. You're wrong, we are right. End of story. Through our Oscars discussion, we realize we have forgotten most movies we've seen in 2023. Thank you long covid. ECHO premiered a few weeks ago on Disney+ and we're here to break it down. More specifically, we are here for Maya Lopez supremacy, and Chula, you can kick rocks for being an absent grandmother when Maya needed you the most. Biscuits - you're the real MVP. Still reading this and have 0 idea what we're talking about? That's why you should listen to this episode - DUH!
