    We spoke with Dr. Shane Hunt about his experiences building positive cultures, maintaining a healthy identity, and shifting his career. Shane is the Dean of the College of Business and Michael C. Ruettgers Professor of Marketing at Idaho State University. He has received numerous awards for his teaching and scholarship and is the co-author of three widely-used Principles of Marketing textbooks and a brand-new Professional Selling textbook published by McGraw-Hill. After completing his MBA at the University of Oklahoma, Shane went to work for a Fortune 500 company in Tulsa as a pricing analyst, product manager, and business development manager before completing his Ph.D. at Oklahoma State University. Shane now lives in Pocatello, ID with his wife Jenifer and their two children, Andrew, and Sarah.

Niya holds a doctoral degree, from Abilene Christian University, in organizational leadership with her dissertation on the lived experiences, career challenges, and mentoring experiences of Black women athletic directors. As a diversity, inclusion, and equity consultant, she has partnered with K-12 schools, nonprofits, and corporate organizations to provide training, coaching, and strategic planning. She is certified as a qualified administrator for the Intercultural Development Inventory, LLC. With over 13 years of experience in Higher ED, leading and providing workshops on equitable initiatives and supporting historically underserved communities.
