On July 23, 1995 a comet was discovered by Alan Hale and Thomas Bopp. It became visible to the naked eye for 18 months in 1997. This comet had not been visible from Earth for almost 4,200 years. Since it was such a rare occurrence, many people had theories and beliefs about the coming of this comet. Brit and Dale go over the specifics of one group who took the Hale-Bopp comet very seriously. In fact, they saw it as their way to ascend to the next level of living. This group is called Heavens Gate.
