  • Mustard Seed Faith: Reading The Book of Matthew (Grief & Healing)
    Apr 15 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

What if healing doesn’t require big faith…What if all God is asking for is something as small as a mustard seed?

In this episode of Rise in Mourning: Finding Jesus at the Threshing Floor, we sit with one powerful truth from Scripture—faith as small as a mustard seed is enough.

Today, we open Matthew 17:20 and Matthew 13:31–32 and gently explore what it means to hold onto even the smallest faith in the middle of loss.

In this episode, we talk about:

•What “mustard seed faith” really means

•How God meets you in your weakest moments

•Finding hope when your faith feels almost gone

•Believing you will feel joy again—even if you can’t feel it yet

•Trusting that God can use your pain for something greater

If you are grieving, overwhelmed, or simply holding onto the smallest thread of hope… this episode is for you.

Even in mourning, we rise 🌿

  • Bible Study: Reading Corinthians | Why The Resurrection Matters (Especially in Grief)? | Rise in Mourning
    Apr 8 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

What does the resurrection really mean… when you’re grieving?

In this episode of Rise in Mourning: Finding Jesus at the Threshing Floor, I open the Bible and sit with the words of Paul in Corinthians—words that don’t ignore grief, but speak directly into it.

As a grieving mother, I’ve wrestled with questions like:

Where is my child now? Will I see him again? Is there truly hope beyond this pain?

And this is where the resurrection changes everything.

This episode is a gentle Bible study and reflection on:

    • Why the resurrection is the foundation of our faith

    • What Paul’s letter to the Corinthians teaches us about eternal life

    • How resurrection hope meets us in the depths of grief

    • The promise that death does not have the final word

If you’re walking through loss, I pray this reminds you:

    Even in mourning… we rise.

    🕊️ Key Scripture:

    1 Corinthians 15:12–22, 15:51–57

💛 You are not alone in your grief. There is hope beyond this life.

  • The Hidden Losses of Grief After Losing a Child | Secondary Loss Explained
    Apr 1 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

Grief is rarely just one loss.

When someone we love dies, we experience the primary loss — the loss of that person.

But what many people don’t realize is that grief often carries secondary losses.

These are the hidden losses that unfold after the death.

    The loss of identity.

    The loss of emotional support.

The loss of safety in the world.

The loss of the future we imagined.

For parents who have lost a child, these secondary losses can be especially profound.

You don’t just lose your child.

You lose the future you imagined for them.

In this episode of Rise in Mourning, we talk about the hidden layers of grief and why these secondary losses are such an important part of the healing journey.

If you are grieving, I hope this conversation helps you feel less alone and gives language to emotions many people struggle to explain.

And even in mourning… we rise.

  • Healing in the Moment: Grounding Techniques for Emotional Pain
    Mar 25 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

There are moments in grief and trauma when the emotions become overwhelming.

    Your heart races.

    Your mind spirals.

    Memories flood in.

In those moments, something simple but powerful can help bring you back to the present: grounding.

In today’s episode, I’m sharing practical grounding techniques that therapists often recommend for emotional overwhelm, trauma triggers, anxiety, and grief waves.

Grounding helps anchor your mind and body in the present moment so you can regain a sense of calm and safety.

    We talk about:

    • What grounding is and why it helps

    • When to use grounding during emotional overwhelm

    • Mental grounding techniques

    • Physical grounding techniques

    • Soothing grounding techniques

    • How faith can help anchor us when emotions feel too heavy

If you’re navigating grief, trauma, or difficult emotions, I hope this episode gives you tools you can return to when the waves rise.

And even in mourning… we rise.

  • Beauty From Rubble: My EMDR Therapy Story Pt. 2
    Mar 11 2026

    Send a text

In this episode, I share a powerful EMDR therapy experience from my grief journey after losing my son.

During the session, I saw my life as rubble — broken pieces scattered after the storm of loss. But as I began picking up those fragments, something unexpected began to form: a mosaic.

This episode reflects on the process of healing after trauma, how grief reshapes our lives, and how even the broken pieces of our story can become part of something meaningful.

Through faith, reflection, and healing work, we begin to see that beauty can emerge even from the rubble.

If you’re walking through grief, I hope this conversation reminds you that healing doesn’t mean erasing the brokenness — sometimes it means allowing God to create something new from it.

    Even in mourning, we rise.

  • How EMDR Helped My PTSD After Losing My Son
    Mar 4 2026

    Send a text

After losing Alek, my nervous system was stuck in survival mode. I realized I couldn't process my loss alone, I needed therapy.

EMDR helped my brain process trauma so my body could calm down.

And here’s what I learned: Therapy doesn’t replace faith.

It can support it. God created the brain. He also created tools to help heal it.

If you’re grieving and feel stuck — you’re not weak. You might just be carrying trauma.

Even in the desert… He is near.

    Even in Mourning, we rise.

  • From Raw Grief to Rooted Faith: Reading My Journal After Losing My Son
    Feb 25 2026

    Send a text

In this deeply personal episode of Rise in Mourning, I read journal entries I wrote in the days and weeks after losing my son, Alek.

I only share a few — but they reveal my raw state of mind, the confusion, the heartbreak, and the desperate searching for God in the middle of unbearable grief.

Then we turn to the Book of Job — one of the Bible’s most powerful examples of suffering, faith, and spiritual endurance. I reflect on how my faith has matured since those early journal entries and how even then, in my deepest pain, I was still reaching for God.

If you are grieving, wrestling with God, questioning your faith, or trying to understand suffering through a biblical lens — I pray this episode makes you feel less alone.

    Even in mourning, we rise.
