• Practical Tips for Authentic Communication and Connection in Uncertain Times
    Feb 20 2026

I’m thrilled to share the latest episode of Roaming with Restless Women with you. This time, I had the pleasure of chatting with Tucker Miller, the dynamic founder and CEO of Onward Leadership. Tucker’s journey is inspiring, and I can’t wait for you to dive into our conversation!

    Key Lessons and Ideas:

Tiny Shifts, Big Impact: Tucker emphasizes that small, almost imperceptible changes can propel leaders to the next level. She calls these “tiny grains of sand” that, when adjusted, can make a world of difference.

Energy Matters: We discussed how the energy leaders bring into a room can influence their effectiveness. Even if the words are right, fear-based energy can undermine leadership presence.

Naming the Fear: Tucker shared a fun and practical tip—naming the fear-based voice in your head. Her “lizard” is called Gladys, and this technique helps manage anxious thoughts constructively.

Tucker’s book, The First Four Words, offers practical strategies to start conversations with ease and confidence. It’s all about overcoming the fear that prevents difficult conversations from happening.

Authentic Communication: We delved into the importance of being genuine and calm, especially during transitions. Authenticity builds trust and eases team anxieties.

  • Insights on Aging, Education, and Empowerment for Women Over 50
    Feb 17 2026

I’m thrilled to share the latest episode of "Roaming with Restless Women" with you. This time, I had the pleasure of chatting with the incredible Maricia Johns, a writer and educator who’s making waves with her blog, "This Is Your Best Year." Marissa’s insights are a breath of fresh air for women navigating the beautiful complexities of midlife and beyond.

Here are some of the gems we uncovered in our conversation:

Maricia started her blog to address the lack of content for women over 50 in mainstream media. She’s created a space that’s both inspiring and practical, covering everything from health to personal growth.

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to aging. Whether it’s pursuing new degrees, dancing on Broadway, or enjoying grandmotherhood, Maricia encourages embracing whatever path feels right.

We reflected on how women’s roles have evolved over generations, from gaining voting rights to becoming senior leaders in corporations.

We also shared touching stories about our relationships with our grandsons and the unique joy of being grandmothers.

  • The Son I Knew Too Late - Suicide and Wisdom
    Feb 9 2026

In this powerful episode of "Roaming with Restless Women," I interview Sally Raymond—a marriage and family therapist, author, and passionate advocate for youth. Sally’s journey is deeply personal: after losing her son John to suicide in 1991, she dedicated her life to understanding what went wrong and to preventing similar tragedies for other families. Her story is not just one of loss, but of hope, resilience, and a relentless drive to help young people discover their worth and potential.

Her book, "The Son I Knew Too Late" gives expert advice such as: Acknowledge the pain. Don’t shy away from difficult conversations about mental health and suicide. Understand the warning signs. Withdrawal, hopelessness, and drastic changes in behavior are red flags. Be present and listen. Sometimes, the most powerful intervention is simply showing up and caring.

  • More than Organized: Master Your Space and Mind Your Business
    Feb 4 2026

Feeling overwhelmed by stuff? You're not alone.

In my recent episode of Roaming with Restless Women podcast, Miriam Ortiz Y Pino and I talk about the cultural myth that more stuff equals more happiness.

    It doesn't.

Miriam shares her golden rule: make sure every item you own contributes to the life you want to live. If something doesn't contribute to that life, you don't need it - don't buy it in the first place or get rid of it (gift it) to someone whose life will be blessed by having it.

I totally resonated with Miriam as I got rid of 85 percent of my "stuff" nearly three years ago to live and work in an RV. When that dream was replaced by another dream (to be closer to my kids and grandson), not having so much stuff made it easy to move into a smaller space!

Organization and continuous improvement works in all aspects of one's life. Miriam consults with and coaches business leaders on getting their businesses organized and more profitable as well! Check out her website and YouTube Channel!

  • Vegan Interior Design - Aligning Principles with Profession
    Feb 2 2026

Today I’m excited to share the latest episode of "Roaming with Restless Women" with you. It's a different one!

This time, I had the pleasure of chatting with Risha Walden, our very first interior designer guest! Risha is not just any designer; she’s a trailblazer in vegan interior design and the creative genius behind Walden Interiors.

Risha's design process starts with understanding her clients' lifestyles and aesthetics through in-depth conversations and home visits. It’s all about creating spaces that truly reflect their personalities.

She's also firmly committed to cruelty-free design and avoids animal-derived products like leather, wool, silk, and down, opting for ethical alternatives that are just as beautiful and functional.

Risha views each project as a narrative, a story, where every element has a purpose and contributes to a cohesive, personalized space. She firmly believes, as well, that even those with a good eye for design can benefit from a professional’s expertise. Richard stays updated on the latest trends and products, offering clients options beyond mainstream retailers.

Connect with Risha on Instagram and Facebook at Walden Interiors, or drop her an email if you’re interested in cruelty-free design options!
