This is the first part of a two-part series on native languages. In this episode, Carmen Sanchez Garcia and Joe Moody speak with Dr. Daniel Valle Arevalo, Assistant Professor of Spanish Linguistics, on research he did in Peru relating to the Harákmbut and Kakataibo languages. This semester, Dr. Valle Arevalo will be teaching “Indigenous languages” and “History of the Spanish language” through the Department of Modern Languages.

Carmen Sanchez and Lauren Rogers talk to the UM Libraries' own education librarian, Ally Watkins, about her research on young adult literature and whether the protagonists in these stories are becoming older on average with time.

Brian Corrigan interviews Joe Moody and Judy Cox Andrews about the Charlie Cox Collection of glass plate negatives.
