January is School Board Appreciation Month, and to celebrate, we’re sitting down with the man currently leading the charge for Clyde CISD: Board President Robert Frost.

While many of us see the Board of Trustees sitting behind the dais once a month, few of us see the hundreds of volunteer hours, the complex policy debates, and the deep commitment to student success that happen behind the scenes. In this episode, Robert pulls back the curtain on the "Team of Eight" to show us how local leadership actually works.

    In this episode, we discuss:

    • The "Spark": What drove Robert to trade his free time for a seat on the school board.
    • The Learning Curve: Lessons learned during his tenure and his transition into the role of President in 2022.
    • The Big Wins: Robert shares his proudest moments for the district, from the "Grow Your Own" teacher program to the "Leader in Me" initiative.
    • The Future of Clyde: A look at the challenges and opportunities facing our schools in 2026 and why a strong school district is the backbone of a thriving community.

Whether you have children in the classroom or you’re a local resident interested in the future of our town, this conversation offers a unique look at the people shaping the next generation of Clyde.

Part 2 Description – Scott’s Journey & Role at Workforce Solutions

In the first segment, Mike and Saicy sit down with Scott to pull back the curtain on what it really looks like to support high school seniors at one of the most pivotal moments in their lives. Scott shares how he became a student success representative with Workforce Solutions and gives listeners a look at the path that led him into education and workforce development.

He talks through a typical day working across the Big Country’s wide geographic area—supporting multiple school districts, connecting with students, and coordinating with campus counselors. Scott also breaks down how his role complements, rather than replaces, the work of high school counselors, highlighting the ways they collaborate to help seniors navigate college applications, financial aid, job searches, and career exploration.

From tackling the common challenges students face to delivering hands-on guidance and encouragement, Scott explains the heart of his work: giving every senior the tools, confidence, and support they need to successfully step into college, a career, or technical training after graduation.
