Season 4: Current Issues: Gender in Parenting, Trauma, AI in Counseling, and Social Media

In this episode, hosts Caleb Martin and Cathy Chang are joined by Johnathan Holmes, founder and executive director of Fieldstone Counseling, interim director of CCEF, instructor at Westminster Theological Seminary, and author of Grounded in Grace. Together, they engage in a conversation surrounding identity, particularly as it relates to children and teens navigating today’s culture. Johnathan brings a heart-centered approach to a topic that can often feel overwhelming for so many parents.

Throughout the conversation, they touch on the growing challenges kids face today, especially around questions of identity and gender, and how and when parents can respond with both truth and compassion. Johnathan reminds us that gender is both a gift from God and very good, helping give direction for parents who are struggling to know how to address these topics with their children.
