As a young Australian, you might have grown up with iceberg lettuce. That was nucleus of a salad. Then came all this exotic sort of leaf. We evolved to deal with that.
But take a trip to the USA and order a salad and... BOINGA! Could you please repeat that? They have a veritable blitzkrieg level of salad types and then you have to choose the dressing! It's a fair dinkum mind blower if you're not ready for it.
We work our way through 24 different salads and dressings. Then we get onto salads that might as well be a desert. Bring on the marshies I say.
