Saraswathi Rajamani was born in a very rich family in Rangoon, Burma (Myanmar) on 11th Jan 1927. She is known for her work in the military intelligence wing of the INA (Indian national army). Inspired by Subhash Chandra Bose at a very tender age of 16, she donated all her jewellery to the INA. She was recruited to the Rani Jhansi regiment of the INA in the intelligence wing in the year 1943. Rajamani was sent as a spy along with other female colleagues disguised as a boys to gather intelligence from the British Camps. She efficiently did her job and also rescued one of her colleagues named Durga, when the later was discovered as a spy and arrested. While they were escaping, Rajamani was shot on the leg by a British guard, but she still managed to avoid capture.
