About this listen

Join filmmakers Sam Fenkel and Andrew Alexander as they dive into the forgotten cinematic wasteland of 2012–2020, a time when Hollywood was pumping out way too many movies for anyone to keep up. Together, Sam and Andrew revisit these overlooked films and decide if they should be rewatched or if they should keep collecting dust on the shelf. - Created and hosted by: Sam Fenkel and Andrew Alexander Recorded and produced by: Sebastian Loyo Velazquez Original music by: Walker Perry Podcast art by: Brandon Lupetti and Ryan MoralesAndrew Alexander and Sam Fenkel Art

More like, how to be absurd!

XLR cables have been fixed, and we are back with another Flashback February episode! This week, Andrew and Sam are welcomed back to the Big Apple as they follow Dakota Johnson, Alison Brie, Leslie Mann, and Rebel Wilson. They will maybe laugh, they will maybe cry, but one thing that you can be sure of is that they are going to find out what a German director thinks it means to be single. Will this film find true love with the boys, or will it remain single and never feel the loving embrace of being taken off the shelf?

That's right, viewers, the pod has gone remote! Come and join Andrew and Sam as they attempt to surmount this new digital frontier they find themselves in, and who better to keep them company than Hugh Jackman and Taron Egerton? With the winter Olympics going on, we thought it would be a great time to bring you the story of one of Britain's most iconic ski jumpers. Will this film land the 70m jump to make it off the shelf and into your dvd player, or will it crash into a million pieces, never to be seen again?

    We promise we aren't communists!

    -

This week, Andrew and Sam fight hard to make sure that you know that this film is indeed a shelf warmer. In a film with too many stars to name, Josh Brolin as a Hollywood fixer and George Clooney as an old Hollywood superstar spring to the forefront. That's not to say that Channing Tatum's performance as a gay, communist, dancing, Hollywood star goes unnoticed. Come and find out if taking this film off the shelf is worth the headache of Hollywood that comes with it, or if maybe we should just let the commies have this one.
