An escaped prisoner of war finds himself shipwrecked on an small, uncharted island of mud and decay. While surveying the island he discovers an enormous statue he believes to be the image of pagan fish god, Dagon. As he watches a horrifying creature rises from the depths and engages in an unholy act of worship. The prisoner may escape the island, but what price will Dagon exact for his witnessing a ritual not meant for human eyes?

A cynical newspaper reporter bullies his way onto a deep sea research vessel to investigate a mysterious object detected on the ocean floor.
