About this listen

A "Slug Line" is a starting point in a screenplay. It establishes where and what time of day a scene takes place. Three important production data points are established in a slug line prior to the subsequent scene. Whether that scene is an interior or exterior, the location, and the time of day. So if you see something like INT. OFFICE - DAY its an indoor office scene that takes place during the day. That simple. They are kind of weird to see and look at. They honestly look a bit jarring, but Slug Lines are vital to production and planning out the shoot schedule. But we don’t have to worry about that - the point is a slug line is a starting place...And that is what this podcast is - a starting place. For writers and visual storytellers to come together, talk about writing, workshop scripts and connect creatives to bring dreams to life. Sound ambitious? Probably. But that is the goal.© 2022 Slug Line Art
