• Living with Margin: Making Room for Divine Interruptions
    Feb 26 2026

    Send a text

On a recent cruise in the Caribbean, God began speaking to me about something I didn’t realize I was missing — margin.

    Not more productivity.
    Not more opportunity.
    Margin.

The space between my load and my limit. The breathing room in my time, finances, and emotional energy.

In this episode, I share how Jesus modeled margin for ministry, Mark 1:35, why interruptions are often divine assignments, and how living too full can cause us to miss the very people God places in front of us.

    Because love requires availability.
    And availability requires space.

I’ll also give you practical ways to build intentional margin in this season and reflection questions to help you discern where you may be overfilled.

If you’re longing to slow down and hear God more clearly, this episode is for you.

And if you want guided space to practice listening and creating with Him, explore my Creative Healing Bundle, Refreshing the Soul, or Ashes to Bloom.

God still speaks. Sometimes we just need to make room.

“Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” — Mark 6:31

Have you felt that invitation in this season?

The packing, the moving, the selling, the painting, the traveling, the constant next thing. Blessings can be beautiful… and exhausting.

In this episode of Small Beginnings with Sara, I’m sharing what it looks like to pause in the middle of transition, to name what we’ve been carrying, and to remember that rest isn’t a reward, it’s a relationship with Jesus.

    He restores before He redirects.
He invites us to come, not accomplish.

If your soul feels heavy or hurried, this episode is your gentle reminder to slow down and listen.

✨ Tune in to Small Beginnings with Sara and come away with Him.

  • Open My Lips: The Power of Speaking God’s Word
    Feb 5 2026

    Send us a text

In this episode of Small Beginnings, I’m sharing why God invites us to speak our prayers out loud, not because He needs to hear them, but because something shifts when we do.

    Our voices carry authority.
    Spoken truth changes atmospheres.
And when we speak God’s Word, faith rises and darkness retreats.

    We’ll talk about:

    • Why reading Scripture out loud matters
    • What fear, shame, or silence may have sealed our lips
    • How unlocking our voice often unlocks creativity, healing, and praise

This episode is a gentle invitation to stop praying silently out of fear and start speaking God’s Word with trust, even in small ways.

    God still speaks.
And sometimes, He’s waiting for us to speak back.

If this stirs something in you, continue the journey through Refreshing the Soul or Divine Creativity: Healing Through Painting or Journaling, where prayer, creativity, and healing meet.

  • Breaking Creative Resistance: Reclaiming Your God-Given Creativity
    Jan 29 2026

    Send us a text

Creative resistance has been on my mind lately.

That heavy feeling that shows up right when you sit down to create.
    The distraction.
    The doubt.
The quiet voice that whispers, Maybe later. Maybe you’re not ready. Maybe it doesn’t matter.

In today’s episode, I’m naming that resistance for what it often is, fear, distraction, and even spiritual opposition trying to silence what God placed inside you on purpose.

What if the resistance you feel isn’t a sign to stop…
but confirmation that what you’re creating matters?

We’re diving into Scripture to uncover the truth that creativity isn’t optional fluff or a side hobby. It’s woven into who you are as someone made in the image of a Creator God. When you create, you reflect His nature. And when creativity is delayed, muted, or dismissed, the world misses out on what God intended to release through you.

In this episode, we’ll talk about:
    • Why creativity is God’s idea, not yours
    • Why resistance shows up strongest right before breakthroughs
    • The lies that quietly block obedience, like perfectionism, comparison, and “I’ll do it later”
    • How to overcome resistance with both spiritual truth and practical action
    • Why creating with God becomes both worship and warfare

I also invite you into a gentle moment of reflection, asking:
What has God been nudging you to create?
    Where have you felt resistance?
What would obedience, not perfection, look like today?

If you’ve been feeling stuck, weary, or hesitant to begin again, let this episode be your confirmation:
What God placed in you is worth protecting, nurturing, and releasing.

    God still speaks.

And it might just feel impossible.

    Go create, with Him. 🤍

  • Finding God’s Rhythm, One Day at a Time
    Jan 23 2026

    Send us a text

Lately, I’ve been asking God for His rhythm, not more hustle, not a faster pace, but His way of walking through my days.

In this episode, I share five simple, Scripture-rooted thoughts that have been helping me slow down and listen again. From numbering our days with wisdom, to trusting God for daily grace, to learning when to withdraw, rest, and simply be with Him, this conversation is an invitation to stop rushing ahead and start walking with God, one step at a time.

God doesn’t usually reveal the whole path.
    He lights the next step.
    And somehow, that’s enough.

If you’ve been feeling weary, overwhelmed, or unsure of what’s next, this episode is a reminder that God’s grace is not forced, it’s formed over time through small, faithful obedience. This year isn’t about striving harder. It’s about walking closer.

Pull up a chair, take a breath, and let’s learn together how to live in the unforced rhythms of grace.

  • A New Year Doesn’t Change Your Life, a Renewed Mind Does
    Jan 15 2026

    Send us a text

As we step into a new year, I’ve been sitting with this truth: new calendars don’t create new lives—renewed minds do.

In today’s episode of Small Beginnings, I’m anchoring us in Romans 12:2 and unpacking what it really means to be transformed—not by trying harder, but by allowing the Holy Spirit to renew the way we think.

So many of us are praying for new results while holding on to old patterns. Scripture doesn’t call us to self-help, it calls us to Spirit-led transformation. When our thinking changes, our choices change. And when our choices change, our lives follow.

    We’ll talk about:

    • Why transformation starts between the ears, not in our circumstances
    • What the original Greek reveals about being conformed vs transformed
    • How the Holy Spirit partners with us to renovate worn-out thought patterns
    • Why discernment comes after renewal, not before
    • And how small, obedient shifts in thinking can lead to big, lasting change

If you’ve felt stuck, frustrated, or like you’re carrying the same struggles into a new year, this episode is for you. God isn’t asking you to control your thoughts—He’s inviting you to cooperate with His Spirit and think differently so you can live differently.

A new year doesn’t change your life—but a renewed mind does.

If God has been stirring something creative in you, whether through painting, journaling, cooking, or simply slowing down to listen, I’d love to walk with you deeper. • Entering the New Year With God’s Presence, God’s People, and God’s Favor
    Jan 8 2026

    Send us a text

The New Year doesn’t begin with a goal, it begins with a posture.

Before the plans, the resolutions, and the pressure to move forward, God often invites us to pause. To be present. To listen. In this episode, I share why communion with God must come before clarity, and how learning to slow down can set the tone for the entire year ahead.

We begin by looking at Moses’ request in Exodus 33, where he doesn’t ask God for a strategy, he asks for His presence. Because before God gives direction, He gives Himself. Communion with God isn’t something to check off, it’s a relationship that brings rest, peace, and grounding for new seasons.

From there, we talk about being fully present with the people God has already placed in front of us. Jesus moved with compassion because He was attentive, not rushed. When we’re always looking ahead, we can miss the holy moments happening right now.

We also explore how God gathers the right people for new assignments. Like Nehemiah, we see that favor often opens hearts before the work even begins, and discernment is key as seasons shift.

We close with a prayer, asking first for God’s favor, His presence, His approval, and His leading, trusting that favor with people flows naturally from alignment with Him.

As you step into this New Year, my prayer is that you wouldn’t rush ahead of God. That you would walk with Him, be present, gather wisely, and expect peace, not pressure.

🎧 Press play and begin this year rooted in God’s presence and led by His favor.

  • Favored by God, Finding Peace, and Trusting What Follows
    Dec 18 2025

    Send us a text

In today’s episode of Small Beginnings with Sara, I’m talking about what it truly means to be favored by God—and why favor is often misunderstood. When we look at the lives of Mary and Jesus, we see that God’s favor didn’t remove uncertainty or difficulty, but it did bring purpose, presence, and peace.

We’ll reflect on Luke 1 and Luke 2, where favor found Mary in an ordinary moment and rested on Jesus long before His public ministry began. God’s favor came before clarity, before recognition, and before the favor of man.

In this episode, I share why favor with God always comes first, how peace is the evidence of living under His favor, and why we don’t have to strive for approval when we are rooted in Him. If you’ve been feeling pressure to perform or waiting for validation, this conversation is an invitation to rest.

🎧 Listen in and be reminded that God’s favor is already upon you—and peace is meant to follow.
