In October we gathered at Wax Bar to hear band members read their creative writing aloud. We heard poetry, prose and an excerpt of a screenplay. This writing exists separate to the artists’ musical output; some of it had never been shared before. We recorded it all. You can hear it here. In June we hosted a literary salon at Wax Bar. I invited band members to read their creative writing aloud, to a crowded room. They read poetry and prose that had not made that journey from scribblings to lyrics, writing that occupies a different space entirely. Some of it was lovely, some of it was sickening.
