 SnowAngel Foundation proponents Chauncey & Kelli Johnson lost their 5-year old daughter Elise due to a colliding snowboarder on Christmas Eve 2010. The snowboarder also died and Kelli suffered a Traumatic Brain injury, among other life altering injuries. As of 2024, Kelli is mostly recovered from the ordeal. To honor their daughter the Johnson's started the SnowAngel Foundation and a program titled "Ride Another Day" to encourage on-mountain safety.
