About this listen
Daniel Grinsted and Simon Price sit down to discuss social mobility in the legal sector, something that the industry is perhaps not as progressive with as other industries.
Daniel Grinsted brings social mobility initiatives into his law firm's recruitment strategy, ensuring that talent from all backgrounds receive the opportunity to embark on a law career.
Simon Price is Head of Learning & Development, as well as an Executive Coach. Having grown up on a council estate and being the first in his family to enter university education, Simon speaks in depth about his path to becoming a Solicitor.
Discussions include how people from working class backgrounds do not find the same career opportunities as others when it comes to the legal profession, and how law firms must therefore be proactive in social mobility.
Simon and Daniel make frequent visits to schools, colleges and universities across the North West to run Opening Doors workshops, an initiative that looks to educate young people on a legal career and create opportunities that those growing up in less privileged circumstances often struggle to find.
