  • Ep. 28 - Stephanie Arapian
    Nov 30 2025

Stephanie Arapian is an actor, writer, and producer who's always been drawn to stories that start with "What if?" Her work blends grounded drama with just enough reality-bending to ask big emotional questions, including her short film Rewind To Her, now expanding into a feature alongside several other projects in development. She's also the founder of The Centered Creator, a mindfulness space where she creates meditations and tools to help artists stay grounded while they build the work they believe in — including her upcoming course, Intro to Meditation for Creatives, launching in January.

  • Ep. 25 - Meerenai Shim's The Audacity
    Aug 31 2025

Ten years since her last solo album, trail-blazing flutist Meerenai Shim releases her fourth. The Audacity combines virtuosic flute performances and modern record production techniques in a delightful sonic package. Anchored by the evergreen "Vermont Counterpoint" by Steve Reich and augmented by newly commissioned works from The Honourable Elizabeth A. Baker, Brent Miller, Janice Misurell-Mitchell, and Meghann Wilhoite, The Audacity is Meerenai's most cohesive project to date. When she designed the album cover, Meerenai happened to hand-write her name and it turns out that The Audacity is truly her signature recording project. Released by Aerocade Music.

  • Ep. 22 - Pianist Holly Roadfeldt
    Jun 10 2025

In which I chat with superstar pianist Holly Roadfeldt about her new album Hommages, the dark tunnel of memorization, and the vital importance of collaborating with other artists—in live performances.

    More about the album:

Pianist Holly Roadfeldt transports us to Eddie Van Halen's arena, behind Hayao Miyazaki's camera lens, within the frenetic energy of Frank Zappa, to Hildegard von Bingen's visions, above the monumental canvas of Jackson Pollock, and so on. Through Roadfeldt's poetic interpretations of Lanman's compelling vignettes, we recognize these piano miniatures are more than a sonic journey but provide us with the artistic inspiration and human connection we so often desire.

HOMMAGES, the new album from composer Anthony Joseph Lanman. The click of a metronome, haunting melodies, a wild flourish transcribed from a famous virtuoso guitarist, and seemingly random pitches repeated through a looper pedal on which other colors emerge. These are the expressions of vulnerability through sound heard in Anthony Joseph Lanman's HOMMAGES.

Thank you Holly for joining me again on the podcast!
