  • Spark Sessions #2: Dr Gillian Judson and the role of imagination in leadership
    Nov 28 2021

This week we spend just over half an hour learning all about Gillian Judson, her background, and most importantly, her scholarly work around imagination.

Imagination typically evokes a context of younger humans, and as Gillian says, a Google search for images that represent imagination reinforce this bias. Gillian's work and mission is all about recognising and acknowledging the role imagination plays in all of the human condition, but particularly in schools, and especially in school leadership.

Gillian has two courses on this for teachers on EduSpark, and if you enjoy this conversation, and her work, then check out the (currently) free "A Walking Curriculum" and the soon to be released "Cultivating Leadership Imagination With Cognitive Tools".

Gillian also explains why her Twitter handle is @perfinker, and how she is passionate about the #imaginED hashtag.

You can also find Gillian on LinkedIn, and her three books can be found on Amazon here.

Finally, the imaginED website is full of interesting posts and resources.

To see Gillian's courses, and indeed over 50 other courses from global thought leaders in Education, register for free at Eduspark World.

  • Spark Sessions #1: The Skill of Happiness with Dr G
    Nov 12 2021

In this, our first Spark Sessions, we kick off with the legendary Dr G.

Gihan Jayaweera is a Melbourne-based GP with a keen and special interest in the wellbeing of  teachers, school leaders and (most of all) our students.

Gihan is also one of our Course Creators on EduSpark, and he has a hugely practical course available for Pro level subscribers called The Skill of Happiness. Rather than trying to be happy, Gihan teaches simple and easily applied habits that help you do happy.

In this conversation, EduSpark Founders Craig Kemp and Andrew Mowat explore Gihan's passion and motivations, play the Two Truths and a Lie game, and explore an impactful model from Gihan's thought leadership.
