This time Bergdís occupies the host’s seat alone and Tinna takes a seat as a guest.

Tinna Þorvalds Önnudóttir and her sister, Sóley Þorvaldsdóttir have just recently opened an exhibition together in Gerðuberg which is situated in their childhood neighbourhood, Breiðholt. Tinna works as an illustrator and Sóley is a photographer and with those very different mediums they weave together an exhibition about growing up in Breiðholt in the 80’s and 90’s. An ode to youth and an ode to Breiðholt.

Sóley and Tinna talk about the process of putting on this show, about collaborating as sisters and colleagues and about the healing journey of walking in one’s own steps some 30 years later.

Breiðholt has a reputation for being rough but the sisters wanted to show their childhood home in a different light.

Recording this episode we were not in our usual studio and only had one mic that was passed between us so the sound is not as it usually is. But it’s still good and we hope you enjoy listening to this chill café chat about sisterhood, what drives us and what usually stands in our way.

The exhibition will be up at Gerðuberg until the 7th of February 2026 and can be enjoyed completely free of charge!

Bergdís and Tinna talk to dancer, actress, choreographer and aerial artist Sally Cowdin.

Sally comes originally from Kansas City in the United States but has moved all over Europe and somehow ended up on this icy island in the north. In the short time she has lived here she has dived head first into the culture scene and become an active force within it.

This should surprise no one as when one meets Sally it is clear that she is an awesome artist and also a radiant and positive person who has this wonderfully soft discipline and decisiveness that just attracts everyone.
