This week we feature Jennies golf with head coach Chris Port and junior McKenna Rice. We also share a bit of UCM Athletics history, including where one track and field standout and one basketball legend are today, and we preview the week ahead in UCM athletics.

We have a special treat on this episode of Sports Page as we are visiting with Mules and Jennies track & field graduate assistant Christopher Goodwin and his sister, Kayla Goodwin.  Christopher is a 15-time All-MIAA performer and four-time All-American, including a national championship in the outdoor long jump at the NCAA Division-II National Championships in 2022.  He is now a graduate assistant coach for the Mules and Jennies. 

Kayla is a junior at UCM and is a six-time conference champion and seven-time All-American in the triple jump, indoor pentathlon and outdoor heptathlon. 

This week I get to visit with a  fellow Smith-Cotton High School and Central Missouri State University alum, my good friend Kathy Anderson. Kathy is the interim vice president for intercollegiate athletics at UCM, but more than that she is a Jenny, through and through.  Her No. 32 is retired after an All-America and UCM Athletics Hall of Fame career with Jennies basketball.  She also was a member of the CMSU track and field and softball teams, competed for Team USA, and is enshrined in the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.

This week on Sports Page we’re hitting the links to feature Mules golf.  I am excited to visit with Mules head golf coach Tim Poe and sophomore Alex Gentry.  We also share a HUGE week in UCM Athletics History, feature a former Mulekicker and Mules baseball player in our "Where Are They Now" segment, and tack on the week ahead in UCM Athletics.

For 15 years I had the honor and privilege of working with some of the finest individuals in all of college athletics. These folks are at virtually every sporting event but are operating behind the scenes. I’m talking about the athletic media relations staff. And at the University of Central Missouri, we have one outstanding crew. All three of the individuals on the show this week are former students of mine.

This is a special edition of Sports Page because it’s Spring Break at the University of Central Missouri, so all the student-athletes and coaches are gone. That means we are going to take a break from covering the PLAYING teams and focus on one of the teams that allows YOU the fans to follow your Mules and Jennies. I’m talking about the CTV Sports Network. We also have a special "Where Are The Now", a look at the week in UCM Athletics history, and peak at the week ahead.

This week on Sports Page we are featuring Jennies softball.  Head coach Susan Anderson and senior shortstop Abbey Fischer join me in studio.  We also celebrate a UCM family in our "Where Are They Now" segment, showcase a wild week in UCM athletics history, and preview the next seven days.
