🎙 St. Ed Soundwaves – Episode 8

In Part 1, JT Birns sits down with Principal AnnMarie Dufelmeier—affectionately known as Principal Woj. A dedicated leader and lifelong educator at St. Edward, Principal Woj shares her passion for student service and community involvement. Recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International in 2020, she reflects on her leadership of the Interact Club and her mission to inspire students to embody Rotary’s motto: Service Above Self.

In Part 2, we welcome back to campus Kevin O’Connor, a proud member of the Class of 1968. A vibrant student leader during his time at St. Ed, Kevin remains deeply connected to the school’s legacy through events, reunions, and his writing. He discusses his memoir, Two Floors Above Grief, which captures life in 1950s–60s Elgin and the foundation laid at St. Edward that launched his 45-year career in education. From the halls of St. Ed to retirement in Florida, Kevin’s story is one of gratitude, service, and enduring school pride.
