    As a father of a daughter, I want to be instrumental in helping to usher in more equality for and deeper acceptance of women in our society. As a son, I feel ashamed that my mother and her mother before her endured oppression and apathy to their plight at the hands of men like myself. I would never assume to be a feminist (I have not been on the front lines of this fight); I am however, an advocate for and supporter of feminism and understand why it is a needed movement.
