Hey all! Today we'll be taking stock of our progress this past year, and taking a look forward at what 2025 may look like. From porting our database infrastructure to GitHub and becoming the first American DUNA, there have been some awesome advancements.

I'm looking forward to also discussing items on the near horizon, such as the hopeful approval to come for WhyDRS to operate as a charitable nonprofit. @wtfeweguys will join the show to talk about social engagement and scaling project development, leveraging what we have to grow what we can do. Today on Taking Stock we'll follow up on last weeks discussion with an examination of the Treasury Department's study on Digital Assets, which also was released in October 2024. The Treasury takes a more direct approach reviewing how tokenization of treasuries could impact the market currently developing in the crypto space including effects on stablecoins, bitcoin, memecoins, and coins yet to come. It is a data driven and conservative take which is worth the read if you're interested to see how the coming years may integrate emergent blockchain technology.

Make sure to check out some of the excellent included graphics and charts to follow along, as we'll praise heavily the diligence displayed by this team even if dismayed by the way in which the Treasury department is recommending to utlize distributed ledgers.

Today on Taking Stock we'll be discussing the recent DTCC study on Digital Assets effects on Collateral Management. Per @john.xlm , DTCC Digital Assets is their Securrency acquisition. One of the primary benefits to digital assets is how it can enable direct custodial control for participants and transparency for onlookers - DTCC as umbrella for the centralized security depository for US markets will have an interesting sponsored take on this tech.

The report was authored by Nadine Chakar, an industry veteran who is currently the Global Head of DTCC Digital Assets. Her prior roles included acting as Securrency CEO, an RWA tokenization firm, before they were acquired by DTCC and as the head of State Street Digital, which was a focused division of the State Street asset management firm.
