  • Bylines Scotland Radio talks to Dr. Dan Goyal about child abuse.
    Feb 22 2026

Ronnie Barbour from Bylines Scotland Radio and NHS consultant Dr Dan Goyal discuss the difficult topic of child abuse within our societies and the longterm impact.

We cannot afford to look away from this dark subject as the impact and longterm effects tear up the very fabric of our societies and communities. Immense wealth seems to be a form of impunity insurance against any form of accountability. In today's world of excessive consumption the notion of respectability seems to have been lost. The lack of empathy amongst political leaders is palpable. Those in power seem to be untouchable, and the fate of the victims nothing more than 'pearl clutching'. In what sort of society do we want to live in? Will the UK move more towards a US or a European form of society? Is the UK heading towards a two tier health system with those who can afford treatment and those who can't? Last but not least, Dr Dan Goyal thanks Bylines Scotland and Byline Times for being "an anchor" in torrid times. We thank Dr Dan Goyal for his passionate podcast with so many important messages.
