And Riley describes the images that start to play: not a movie, but a loop of the previous six callers—each one, Luna realizes, from the same spot, same abandoned lot, same night of the year. The horror isn't in the pictures. It's in the pattern. And in what Luna hears next: her own voice, from a call she doesn't remember making, telling someone named Riley to stay on the line.
