The one rule they used in their choices is they where released in the UK and Ireland during 2025.     One Battle After Another sees Paul Thomas Anderson adapt another Thomas Pynchon book the 1990 novel Vineland (Inherent Vice was the other). Next to Di Caprio this also stars Benicio del Toro, Sean Penn, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, and Chase Infiniti to name a few. This one follows a stoner alcoholic attempting to find his missing daughter when his old life (a revolutionary terrorist) catches up with him. Bob Ferguson (DiCaprio) was the gadget man for the group who now brings up his daughter Willa (Infiniti) on his own.

    Celebrate Episode 50 of The Chronicle Film Podcast as Paul & Sean Wilson review Spinal Tap II: The End Continues and The Long Walk.

    A very diverse episode comedy to Psychological thriller. We take the lighter stroll first with Spinal Tap II: The End Continues. Over 40 years after the original film graced our screens the boys are back for one final fling. Volume turned up to 11, Nigel Tufnel, David St. Hubbins, and Derek Smalls, despite the split reunite for one contractual reunion gig. Will the magic still be there?

    Final review is The Long Walk. a dystopian psychological thriller directed by Francis Lawrence (The Hunger Games) and written by JT Mollner (Strange Darling). Based on a Stephen King novella which a group of young men 'volunteer' for a long walk with no stopping. They must walk at least 3 miles per hour, if they don't they get a warning, get 3 they are eliminated. Chilling story that stars Copper Hoffman, David Jonsson and Mark Hamill.

    Greetings, Fellow Chroniclers, it's time for another episode of The Chronicle film Podcast. In episode 49, Paul and co-host Aaron Gillingham look back and review FrightFest 2025.

    Every August bank holiday, the dark heart of horror FrightFest take over central London. The 26th edition promises a weird, the wild and wonderful year. The burning question is did this year deliver?

    One of the reviews in this episode is The Toxic Avenger Uncut. The long-awaited Macon Blair directed remake of the Troma Films cult classic, which is in UK cinemas from 29th August. Peter Dinklage, Kevin Bacon, Jacob Tremblay and Elijah Wood all star in this one. Winston Gooze (Dinklage) is an ordinary worker, who after a shocking accident, transforms a downtrodden janitor into a mutant vigilante. Armed with his signature mop, the unlikely hero battles freaks, gangsters and corrupt CEOs while trying to save his relationship with his son.
