  • Ep26 Samantha Kurowski - The Good Girl Complex
    Aug 14 2024

Are you a stickler for the rules? Have or do you have a little bit of a good girl complex?

As the decades have evolved for sit down and be quiet like a good girl, we are ow reversing this as adults and HOPING not to inflict the same on our kids...

Today I talk to Samantha about parenting and how we ourselves have trauma to heal in order to parent from a neutral space.

Sam is a mum to two beautiful children running South West Parenting, a business really supporting parents as we navigate this world.

Samantha’s path to becoming a parenting consultant is rooted in both professional experience and personal insight. Her journey began in 2008 when she completed her Bachelor of Nursing, followed by a post-graduate certificate in clinical nursing. Working in emergency nursing, Samantha honed her skills in supporting families through challenging situations.

It was in the high-pressure environment of emergency care where Samantha comforted parents, which in turn helped children navigate frightening and overwhelming experiences. Creating a sense of safety became the cornerstone of her approach to parenting support.

Samantha’s professional background in nursing provided a unique perspective when she became a parent herself. Her ability to navigate the challenges of parenthood with resilience and positivity caught the attention of her community. As more parents sought her guidance, Samantha recognised a widespread need for accessible, practical parenting support.

Responding to this need, she expanded her knowledge by immersing herself in parenting literature and pursuing advanced training programs. Samantha began synthesising this wealth of information into relevant, actionable strategies for families. What began as informal community support gradually evolved into the establishment of Southwest Parenting, a dedicated resource for families across the region.

  • Ep25 Lacey Savell - How do you parent?
    Aug 6 2024

We can be so quick so judge another Mumma on her parenting sometimes, we are ALL guilty of this!

Also, when it comes to parenting, we are given parenting styles on how to do this and what it entales...

I do not agree with this AT ALL - I think how you parent can come from your own personal values, your family values and that's what we are diving into today.
