ARC alliance of revolutionary cosplayers

ARC is a community-based cosplay performing group in Davao City, Philippines that promotes and showcase POP-Culture performances. The group advocate to cater and train young talents, enthusiast, and performers to develop their skills in pursuits of cosplay through performing arts.

We aim for an inclusive, transparent, and wholesome environment to achieve excellence and quality performance in our craft as a group Stewart cosplayers with good character and passion in the community.

Before the pandemic hit, Rangers was an actress constantly on the move, jumping between jobs, auditions, and sets. She shared a place with a close friend, someone who had already found passion and purpose in the world of cosplay. Her friend was deeply immersed in the craft, creating everything from elaborate armor builds to finely tailored costumes. Watching the creativity unfold sparked something in Rangers, a curiosity, a desire to explore cosplay herself.

But life had other plans.

With her schedule packed and no time to spare, Rangers could only admire from the sidelines. It wasn’t until the pandemic had come and gone that she finally found a rare moment of stillness and with it, the opportunity to dive headfirst into cosplay. From the very first build, it clicked. What started as an interest quickly became a calling.

And as they say, the rest was history.

The couple first connected on TikTok, with Zanarah being the more experienced cosplayer, while Dutchie was just beginning his cosplay journey. Around 2020, their interactions became more frequent and engaging, eventually leading to a strong creative partnership. Since then, they’ve grown into a cosplay power couple, steadily building a reputation within the community, a momentum they continue to carry forward to this day.

At the beginning of 2016, Sym was introduced to the world of cosplay. Her first exposure came through YouTube. At the time, she was simply a fan of anime. While browsing through various videos, she stumbled upon a female cosplayer who was performing Japanese voice lines while dressed as the character. Impressed by the creativity and dedication, Sym shared the video with her mother. Soon after, she attended her first cosplay convention, and as expected, she fell in love with the hobby. It wasn’t long before she became a cosplayer herself.

Meg was introduced to cosplay when they and their best friend decided to attend Comic-Con dressed up in costumes. At the time, they weren't aware that "cosplay" had become a distinct term for people dressing up outside of Halloween. As they delved deeper into the world, Meg learned about key aspects of the cosplay community, such as having your own unique brand and the opportunity to do photoshoots with photographers who specialize in cosplay. This new knowledge quickly captured their interest, and they soon became hooked on pursuing the hobby.

Back in their high school days, Ruri was casually browsing the internet on their phone when they stumbled upon an advertisement for AthensCon, an event focused on pop culture and cosplay. Curious, they decided to attend the event with their mother and sibling. To their surprise, the experience was nothing short of a culture shock. The very next day, they purchased their first costume, and from that moment on, Ruri was determined to pursue cosplay themselves.

At the age of 25, Akkun came to the realization that it was now or never if they wanted to pursue cosplay, as their shy personality had previously held them back. When the pandemic struck in 2020, causing widespread isolation and leaving many with little to do, Akkun saw it as the perfect opportunity to finally dive into the world of cosplay. From that moment on, they never looked back.

For Lucy, her journey into cosplay began with having a father who was a fan of Star Trek, which exposed her to the world of people wearing elaborate costumes. In addition, an event called Japan Day, featuring cosplay-related activities, further fueled her interest. There was never any doubt in her mind that she would eventually dive into the world of cosplay herself.
