This week on The Emo Hour, Nani and Katie are celebrating one whole year of sharing feelings, music, and melancholy laughs! 🖤 As always, the episode kicks off with “What’s Making Us Emo This Week” — Katie’s bummed after someone stole from her car (don’t worry, it was just snacks), and Nani’s feeling all the emotions about the podcast’s first anniversary.

Then the duo dives deep into some reflection mode — talking about what they’ve learned through making the show, their favorite memories from the past year (including a few chaotic ones), and what the next era of The Emo Hour might look like.

To wrap it all up, they close with their signature emo lyrics of the day — featuring heartfelt lines from Hot Mulligan and Medium Build. Whether you’ve been here since episode one or you’re just joining the emotional ride, this one’s for the day-one listeners and the forever feelers. 💔🎙️

  • Nani’s Birthday & September 2025 Emo News!
    Oct 1 2025

In this jam-packed episode, Katie and Nani kick things off on a personal note as Nani opens up about her upcoming birthday — and all the complicated, nostalgic, "wait, how old am I again?" emotions that come with it. From there, Nani recounts her recent trip to Boston to see Turnstile live (spoiler: it was everything), setting the stage for this month's main topic: September 2025 emo news.

There's so much happening in the scene that the duo has to pick and choose, but the highlights are undeniable: Turnstile is having a major moment, pop-punk guests are popping up on the Jonas Brothers tour (?!), and Blink-182 is going full chaotic energy with their Missionary Impossible tour featuring Alkaline Trio. The All-American Rejects also make headlines — not just for their Arby’s collab, but for launching their own direct-to-fan music platform called Playhouse.

Katie and Nani also squeeze in shoutouts to some major music releases and tours from The Starting Line, AFI, and My Chemical Romance — yes, it’s a good time to be emo.

They wrap things up with the emo lyric of the day, and while Katie makes a strong case, Nani declares herself the winner… because it’s her birthday. Ok, sure. 🖤🎂

  • Nani's Back-to-Back-to-Back Shows at the Roadrunner in Boston: Sam Fender, Garbage, & Yungblud
    Sep 24 2025

    Send us a text

This week on The Emo Hour, Katie and Nani kick things off with what's making them extra emo lately — starting with the legendary recap of Nani’s surprise early birthday party. Spoiler: it involved her 10 closest friends (that’s 11 people total, aka Nani’s angel number) showing up dressed as different versions of Nani. We’re talking emo Nani, poolside Nani, New York Nani, VIP Nani, podcast Nani, airport Nani — and yes, chaos and identity spiraling ensued in the best way possible.

Then, the duo dives into the topic of the day: Nani’s back-to-back-to-back concert marathon at Boston’s Roadrunner venue. She saw Sam Fender, Garbage, and Yungblud in three consecutive nights and lived to emotionally tell the tale. Tune in for full fangirl mode as Nani swoons over Sam Fender’s voice, relives Garbage’s iconic alt-rock glory, and recounts Yungblud’s pure rockstar energy — hip thrusts and all.

As always, they close it out with their emo lyrics of the day, and in a twist no one saw coming (wink), Katie takes home the crown for best emo lyric of the week.

Whether you're in your emo era or just visiting, this episode is your emotional safe space.
